Sequences 2.0: cadences that react to your prospects

· 5 min read

The first version of SigmaGTM Sequences was linear. Step one on Monday, step two on Wednesday, step three on the following Tuesday, regardless of what the person on the other end actually did. It worked, but it treated a prospect who opened your email four times exactly the same as one who never saw it.

Sequences 2.0 changes that. Every step can now branch on behaviour: opened but did not reply, clicked a specific link, bounced, or went quiet for a set number of days. Each branch gets its own copy, its own delay and its own exit condition, so a warm thread and a cold one stop receiving identical follow-ups.

Reply detection is the second big change. We parse inbound mail against the thread rather than the address, which means an out-of-office no longer counts as engagement and a reply from a colleague on the same domain still pauses the sequence for the original contact.

Smart scheduling now sends in the recipient's local working hours using the company headquarters we already enrich, with a per-mailbox daily cap so your domain reputation stays intact as volume grows. Teams running the beta saw a 31% lift in reply rate on identical copy purely from send-time changes.

Existing sequences keep running untouched. To migrate, open a cadence, choose Convert to branching, and every current step becomes the default path — you can then add branches one at a time without pausing the campaign.
